Hello and welcome to my portfolio!
I’m a film director/producer, musician, writer, and journalist based in Oakland, CA.
I grew up in a musical, adventurous family, and have lived, trained, and performed all over the world. After graduating from UC Berkeley in 2012 with a degree in literature and performing arts and I pursued further training at the Saint Petersburg State Theater Arts Academy in Russia. When I returned to the Bay Area, I founded RADIX Troupe Productions. We began as a small theater troupe in 2012 but have since evolved into an award-winning power house of Bay Area artists working together to make original film, theater, and music.
I have directed and performed in numerous theatrical and dance pieces, and have written/directed two original short films. My most recent short film, "Zoey & the Wind-Up Boy," produced by RADIX, won Best Fantasy Film at the 2017 Roswell Sci-fi Film Festival and Galacticon, and was a finalist for Best International Short at the Ithaca Fantastik Film Festival, 2017.
As a singer and cellist, I regularly perform with the award-winning band, MAD NOISE. I’m also the band-leader and singer-songwriter for Girl Swallows Nightingale, and we a now in the middle of making our first concept album.
Finally, I’m a freelance journalist and videographer for CALIFORNIA Magazine. For CALIFORNIA, I’ve written, directed, shot, and edited over 20 short documentaries covering a plethora of characters and topics – from a 3-part series on the life and work of entomologists, to a young contortionist who finally achieves her dream of joining an internationally touring circus. Currently, I’m directing and producing a video series on the latest developments in brain machine interface technology. I also regularly write for both the print and online magazine, mostly on travel, science, the arts, and occasional anecdotal essays.
I'm so grateful for all the support and learning I've received from my family, friends, and mentors. Most of this website's photography was done by Mogli Maureal, with some additional photos by Jan Ziegler, Julian Pham, and Sam Yapp. Thank you all for your inspiring 3rd eyes.
My Role: Founder, Artistic Director
Radix (pronounced ray-dix) is an award-winning troupe of Bay Area artists making original film, music, and theater.
I founded RADIX in 2012 and was given an artistic residency at The Foundry, an old iron-works factory in Berkeley, CA. Since then, RADIX has been playing, training, and creating original work together.
To date, I've made 3 short films with Radix, 11 music videos, and am going into pre-production for a 4th film called Steal the Night

Girl Swallows Nightingale hatched in 2016, when I accidentally wrote too much music for a fantasy film I directed and decided that it was the perfect excuse to start a new band. With songwriting inspired by folklore, anime, science fiction, and epic saga, Girl Swallows Nightingale conjures a cinematic experience, painting a vivid musical canvas that shifts its colors between modern rock, jazz, theater, funk, and pop, to underwater sound scapes and dreams of outer space.
